HI SENNA, WHY DID YOU JOIN EJMSL?
I’m a personal trainer, so naturally I love my fitness, and sometimes it gets tedious doing the same thing, so playing in different sports gives me the opportunity to work on different types of fitness, and different muscle groups. I’ve always been interested to meet new people and experience something new, so I couldn’t wait to get started!
WHICH OF THE SPORTS LEAGUES HAVE YOU PLAYED IN? AND WHATS YOUR TOP 3?
I’ve played in darts, pool, badminton, table tennis & the tennis league. But my top 3 favourites are badminton, pool & table tennis. I like badminton because it’s very fast paced, technical and a good interval workout. Pool is nice and relaxed, but I also find it mentally stimulating and very strategic. Table tennis is a great social sport, but I prefer outdoors to indoors, and the wind can be a good challenge. Embrace the elements!
WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT PLAYING IN THE LEAGUES? AND WHY WOULD YOU RECOMMEND IT?
Its great to meet new people, that can push you in different ways, people you wouldn’t have met if you just kept playing with the same friends all the time. Meeting new people is so important, who knows what other opportunities or doors it can open! I can’t recommend playing sports enough, its character building, and a way of expressing yourself honestly. People obviously know playing sport is great for your physical health, but I think people underestimate how much it does for your mental health. I’d say it’s more beneficial for your mental health then physical.
WHAT'S BEEN YOUR FUNNIEST MOMENT?
I was playing in the pool league, against my older brother Reece (who usually beats me at every sport we play), but I know in pool, that unexpected things can happen. The first frame I won playing pretty decent and I was feeling confident after that. I was trying to get inside my brother’s head, so was regularly laughing and joking around with him, and it appeared to be working. In the second frame I had a great chance to take a 2-0 lead, but when potting the black, i followed through and sunk the white ball also! (1-1). However, in the third frame, Reece potted the black completely by accident to hand me a 2-1 lead! It had to be some sort of miracle i thought! Reece made it 2-2, but I couldn’t actually believe it when he potted the blackball by mistake again in the final frame to give me the win. What a mad, crazy game of pool!
WHATS BEEN YOUR BEST PERFORMANCE?
I entered the darts league of the winter just gone (2018/19) but I’d only just started playing in December. My best win was with my friend Lewis, against Andy & John (probably the best pairs team in Verbier), and I managed to hit the winning dart on the bullseye, it was such a great feeling. Oh hang on, that wasn't in the league. It was in the tournament run by EJMSL every Monday in Verbier, does that count?

IF YOU COULD ADD 1 SPORT/EVENT TO EJMSL THAT ISN'T CURRENTLY AVAILABLE, WHAT WOULD IT BE? AND WHY?
How about football tennis? it’s a great mix up, you can use your shoulder, chest, head and feet obviously. It would be great fun!
LASTLY DO YOU HAVE ANY FUTURE TARGETS OR SOMETHING YOU'D LIKE TO ACHIEVE PLAYING IN THE LEAGUES?
I’d love to hit my first shanghai in the darts league and I want to improve my badminton as I was the best in my secondary school! Also, I’ve come so close to winning many darts matches, losing 4-3 on numerous occasions, one of my targets is definitely to gain my first darts win, or hopefully two!
